I have received this call often, and I usually hang up immediately. But last time I hung it would not disconnect, the recording kept play for about 5 minutes. I reported it to Bell Canada, they couldn't do anything. Be aware!!!!
804-518-2490 came up on my line at my place of work. I pressed 1 to have my "credit card interest rate reduced" and when I got a person I asked if they would stop calling this number as it is a place of business. She just hung up on me. I called the number back and got a recording that said "to take you off the calling list, please press 1". I did, but felt it should be reported.
Got the same call from the same number and did exactly the same as Roberta. When I asked to be removed, they just hung up. This is the second time they have called me this morning and it is only 10:30.
While the call is from the US, they are for MBNA. I called them and said I'd never get an MBNA card as their telemarketing is so annoying. They said they would remove my name from the list but it could take a month. We shalll see!!!!
You can thank our Canadian government for this one. They sold the do not call list to other countries. I call this shooting Canadian companies in the heart. The Canadian companies can no longer call us however, now any other country can call day and night and we can't do anything about it. AND, the goverment SOLD the info so they made money on us from a fake promise of relief. Nice huh?
