Because the "government" (I don't understand your use of quotations around this word) Do Not Call registry in itself does not *prevent* criminals from violating the law. An illegal scammer violates the law whenever he/she dials your number for the purpose of soliciting business (assuming you've added your number to the "Government" Do Not Call registry). It's on you to file a complaint with the FCC and to follow through on the established complaint process; it's not on the "government" to do anything until you file a complaint.
This is a scam from a fake company called Credit Card Services. I got a pre-recorded call offering to lower my credit card rates and to press 1 to be connected to a live person. I did press 1 and asked what company it was. They said they were "Credit Card Services" and claimed that they processed all of my visa and mastercard payments. (This is false). I asked them to take me off the mailing list and they hung up on me without me to confirm my contact information.
I got one of their calls today. I felt like playing games with them... So I asked them what Bank do
they represent and they said " Visa and Master Card " I said they are not banks and asked again
the guy who sounds like he is gay replied " I am not going to argue with you, was rude told me
he does not have the energy to augue today.. " He hung up.
Maybe I got rid of those jerks
I am so tired of these scammers calling me. I have asked to be taken off so many lists just to have "Rachel from Cardholder services" call me again. Come on FCC, do your job.
