Who called from 9170000000

Appeared on my Caller I.D. on Sept. 10. Googling it led me here. Thanks to the above posters for the info.

For the required email field, I entered '[email protected]' (IOW, fair turn around) and submitted the following message:

"New York 917-000-0000" appeared on my caller I.D. yesterday. Googling that number led me to several sites with many posts saying that this is Bloomberg campaign calls. Some even said that they continued to receive these calls even after requesting that they stop.

The harassment alone of this type of campaigning would be bad enough but the deceptive, sneaky tactic of gaming the caller I.D. with a spoofed number like this really hits a low.

I got a call yesterday.  There was music from the other end, no voice.  Today I got another call. When I saw the same number on my caller id, I just did not answer. I hope this does not turn into a daily event.

I failed to mention...I am in California, which means this problem is not only for New Yorkers!

I received a call from 917-000-0000 yesterday (9/15/09) on my cell phone and today (9/16/09) on my home phone. Just Musak.  No indication who was calling.

Yes I got this same music and the girl saying hello a few days ago!!!!!!
