It's a scam. Pretends to have been a victim of a computer virus but didn't realize I don't have the sort of computer he claims to have been victimized by.
Caller said he was "David, from Technical Support for your computer". Clearly from a call center, so I decided to mess with him... I asked "which computer". He said their was a problem with my computer. I asked which one. He asked if we have multiple computers on the same server. I said yes, and which computer was he technical support for again... He had a vague answer and a followup question for everything, and even said what tech company he was with (some place in Burlington VT). But when he couldn't explain how his company was connected to my computer, he just hung up on me.
Called once at 11pm and again and 1159pm. I finally answered, he said he was calling about my computer. Told him it was midnight and he said OK but this is important about your computer. I told him to remove my name from the list and never call again. Hopefully he doesn't!
This number called again...this time at 11:30PM Eastern Time!!!! Should I be happy it wasn't at 11:46 like the first time? It's now been over a week since then. Get your damn time zones straight, scammers!!!!
