I called that number back and yhe scary thing is she had all me information lol. But! I know for a fact i never have used a payday loan!! She drooped 2 names that I knew and one was a co-worker. I would only use her as a job reference! Don't fall for this crap
Had the same call this morning. Investigator Tay told me that there were fraud charges against me and I would be arrested soon. I spent the day tracking these people. Finally called them back and spoke with someone claiming to be Attorney Mark Adams with Pete Stein Associates. No Company in that name in the area. This appears to be a scam.
Just an FYI: This is a scam. Legally, you have the right to all information. Being that they are "attorneys" they cannot withhold any information (scam red flag). Contact the Bureau of Consumer Credit in your state they will be able to assist you with telling you if any of the companies are registered in your state (sometimes you can look this up on line). Request that all information be mailed to you by the USPostal if they say they only email this is another red flag that it is a scam. information you want from them. A copy of their certificate to work in your state as well as the payday loans, a copy of the wire transfer, as well as the date and the amount that was supposedly put in your account. And notify them that you are ordering them to only contact you by the US Postal System. This is called Cease and Desist. If they send something to you then forward it to the Bureau of Consumer Credit (highly doubtful that they will as then they will be committing Mail Fraud)
Thank you Brian. Based on the calls I've been getting and what they're saying I was hoping it was a scam but it still puts an uneasy feeling in my stomach.
