These people are phishing for live numbers and have no regard if you are on Do not call lists. the only way to get them to stop is to add them to your phone or cell block list.
I've been using very loud air horns for years and it works.
Back in June of last year, I started receiving annoying telephone calls from Bank of America Collections for being 7 months behind in my mortgage payment which was 1000000% bullsh*t because (1) Me and my wife who are both in our both in our mid-60s and long since retired since December 1999, have never, never had any personal, business or mortgage loans with BOA. (2) Our mortgage use to be with Wells Fargo Bank which was paid off in full in September 1986.
So one time I decided to answer and engage the annoying caller with the FULL INTENT of blasting his/her ears off with my 120db air horn.
While on the phone talking politely and answering questions, I stepped outside to curbside, and WHAMO, I let her have it.
Believe it or not, I received a letter/notice in the mail from BOA Collections "threatening" to sue for medical damages due to possible ear damage to the Collection Agent unless I gave them the name of medical insurer.
Since I have Comcast Digital Phone home service in which I can log into my account to see all incoming, outgoing and all calls to voicemail, my immediate reply back to BOA Collections was a photocopy of ALL 47 annoying, bothersome, harassing telephone calls received from them over a 3 week period in which I "threatened" to sue them for $1500.00 for each annoying and harassing telephone call under California law.
$1500.00 x 47 = $70,500.00
Today is Friday, April 13th, 2012, and as of yesterday, I HAVE NOT received any more telephone calls or threatening letters from BOA Collections.
As the old saying goes, "don't get mad, get even"
P.S.: The Federal/State Do-Not-Call registration is the absolute JOKE FOR THE PAST 100 YEARS.
I keep getting unwanted calls from 971-373-2989 with offer to lower my credit card rate even though I register with Do Not Call List. Please, please, please help stop these calls!
like the rest of you I received a call from this number and punched 1 to talk with a rep who also hung up on me when I said my first 3 words. I am going to buy a very loud whistle and when I get the next call I will also request a rep and will blow his eardrums out. If I have to be subjected to this s**t so does the rep.
