Another round of calls sta ting they had to remove a virus from my computer. Same bogus call that an ederly relative told me he received about a month ago. Fortunately, he always calls me about computer issues and doesn't trust anyone else to work on his PC. SCAM!!! Blocking this number.
Called landline. Left no message. CID displayed New Jersey. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. They are ignored. If they leave no message, we don't care who called or what they wanted. A legitimate caller, who can withstand the scrutiny of us researching and checking who they are, so we can decide whether we choose to respond, will leave a message with their name, company name and valid call back number.
Obviously overseas caller said they were with Windows support and was telling me I had a virus. I don't use Windows and so interrupted his pitch to ask, "Who am I?" He repeated he was from Windows support. I interrupted again and said - "sure you are - and who do you think I am?" Caught off guard, he replied, "I don't know" and I ended with, "That's right, so never call me again." Then I blocked the number.
Scammers. I played along for almost 20 min acting like an idiot that could not follow directions. They wanted access to my computer, and I wasted 20 min of their time. They figured out I was screwing with them and called me names. LOL
