MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A CALL STATING SOMETHING ABOUT FRAUD. IT WAS A WOMAN AND SHE EVEN GAVE HIM A CASE NUMBER. I GOOGLED THE NUMBER AND SAW ALL THESE OTHER COMPLAINTS. WHEN YOU ARE IN DOUBT...GOOGLE.
Have been hounded for month by these people. Payed off a credit card, back in January, and have a paper saying payed in full.They said i didn't pay it off, and that there are fraud charged, and bad check charged on me. But i can make it all good, if I will send them another $598.01. and if I don't pay, they will take it out of my checking acct. plus I will have court cost to pay. Where do these people come from, and how do they sleep at night. No one better show to serve me, because I'll set the dogs on them, and they will be picking buck shot out of their [***]. i don't even know he name of these people. won't give their name.Am going to report them, when am done here.
This is the same group that has been calling my office number for over a year, calling someone "Andy Ciau" (no person has ever worked here by that name), and saying I had a limited time to fix whatever made up problem they had at the time before the issue went to court. This is the first time the recording said that I was going to be served with something. They are mixing it up I guess.
In the past they have had an option to talk to a rep, which has become somewhat of a hobby of mine to screw around with them, going from trying to figure out what info they have on me or this Andy (pretty much nothing), to acting like an automated phone system. Every time the person on the other end is extremely rude and not at all fun to mess with. She also always sounds like the same woman, but her name is always different.
Anyways total scam. Even threatening to sick your companies legal department on them wont stop their obsessive calling, though they are forced to try a new number when the complaint goes through to the FTC.
I have received a few calls from them. I finally answered and when the lady told me I had outstanding credit card debts. She told me one was from 1992 and the other from 2003. I laughed so hard. I told her first off I wad only 9 in 1992 so I know for a fact that's a load of crap and 2 if I had a credit card that I haven't paid on since 2003 there isn't a damn thing you can do to me. First off I worked for a debt collection place for like a month. So I know how this all works. In CA they can't do anything to you once it's past 3 years. They will threaten all they want for the money. But legally they can't do anything once its past 3 years. Second by law they have to serve you papers first before ANY type of communication. If they were really taking you to court that is. The lady was very upset with me for calling her bluff. I knew the minute they called me by my maiden name it was bull...
