Who called from 2012585600

I received bogus credit card charge of $4.95 in March 2008 from "BYERSEBOOKS" in New Jersey.

I sent an email to the address ([email protected]) listed on their website (http://byersebooks.com/) and received a reply within 24 hours.  (Interestingly, it was a lengthy form letter, as if they get many similar complaints.)  They suggested that some shady characters might have gotten my credit card information and charged the amount on their website.  But they did refund my credit card for the amount charged ($4.95).  Hopefully that's the end of the story.

Same thing here just now checked my account and a 4.95 charge was on my account from byersebooks. I don't even know who they are. I am in Tennessee and am going to do a fraudulant charge after it posts to get it taken off....

I got this and the same charge under a different company name.  We think the credit card reporting agency equifax had a breach in their security they are not telling us about b/c they people I've spoken with had used this card for their monitoring service.  I contacted my bank, cancelled my debit card, and got a refund for the charges.  It is being looked into right now.  These charges show up under different names.  CNN had an article today I think about this, but they had a different company name, not BYERSEBOOKS 201-258-5600 03/05BYERSEBOO

ha..thanks for this site.  I saw this charge on my account yesterday and I was wondering who the were.  I tried calling them but no answer.  I googled and saw this.  I called my bank to just cancel my card and reissue a new card
