They called me 10 or more times. I was rarely home and they did not leave any message. Finally I naswered and some guy asked me about student loans. He would not say the company name he was representing so I hung up. I just registered with the do not call list. Hopefully it will help.
I, too, have been receiving calls from this number (on my cellphone) for the past 2 or so months, and the one time that I DID answer I was very specific about not wanting to be bothered - lo and behold, I JUST got another call today which I didn't answer, but the next time they call (sadly, I've no doubt that they will strike again...*sigh*...) I WILL take the advice of others and tell them that I will report them to the FCC...hopefully that'll put an end to it.
These guys have been calling me for over a week now and I just dont get it? Calling at odd hours, always the same woman with an accent asking about my student loans. I DONT HAVE ANY. Today I asked to speak with the manager who had, convieniently just stepped out. Grrr.
Apparently the number is from the Scholastic Funding Group. Another message board stated that calling their direct line at 1-866-362-5659 and asking a manager to remove you from the call list works.
Grrr..the people @ 201.266.0965 absolutely suck - company called Educational Direct!!! I am also a law school applicant. I took a Kaplan prep class and wonder if there's a connection there since they are the only ones I gave my cell # to when I registered.
