Received this call at work...have answered in the past but they always hung up. This time a female with a heavy Indian accent asked for me by ~almost my name then followed with "As an IT professional you're entitled to xxxxx free xxxx seminars xxxxxx the next is at xxxxx and lasts 16 minutes xxxxxx"
The xxxxx approximates words I couldn't understand. I told her I wasn't interested and she thanked me and hung up.
Was on the phone when this number showed up on my caller ID. Did not leave a message.
I believe that this is a Free Magazine Subscription to verify information. I hate it when they do that because they get the information when you fill out the application to begin with. If you pick up then I always tell them I have no time for this and never get called back.
She told me her name is Alice Williams.
She told me that she is in a telemarketing company.
She won't give her employer (company) name.
She won't give her area code.
She won't give her location.
She knows there are laws that ensure her calls are identified within the first 30 seconds of her calls.
She knows that she needs to give the name of her company within the first 30 seconds of her calls.
She has argued that when she calls a number and hangs up that she is no longer bound by any laws.
She admitted that she has been dialing phone numbers without uttering a single sound to each call.
She admitted that her job is only to call and hang up on every single phone number in her database.
She admitted that her company has been under lawyer's scrutiny and that her action is mere retaliation.
My call was not recorded, unfortunately for everyone else. But I was talented enough to get all of this.

They are in New Jersey. People in New Jersey are NOT required to pass a high school exam.
Throw them peanuts. They are nothing more than circus bears doing tricks for you.
They have no minds on them. Their heavy 'indian accent' is a New Jersey accent -
They pronounce it "NUUU Jerrrrrrrrrsaaaaa" They cannot read the name of their own State.
They cannot read their sales pitch. That is why they hang up on you. They can only say "yo Adien"
It's better than paying our taxes for their Welfare checks.
They do collect social security checks because they are so severely handycapped (no brains).
Hey - if they don't like this ridicule, this is right up there with "it snows in Alaska and it rains in Seattle"
This is merely a stereotype of them, and afterall, they ARE calling from New Jersey - and I pity them.
They learned how to dial a telephone but never learned how to greet themselves as a business.
Next week they will graduate from the New Jersey School of Telemarketing.
We all cannot wait.
