Scammers don't care about the DNC. Only law-abiding telemarketers respect it. You might want to invest in a call blocker or at the very least, don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize and don't call numbers back "just to find out who called." If they don't leave a message, they aren't worth your time.

I just got a call, but the number on the caller ID was from a local area code, so I answered. They gave me this number to call back regarding "topical compounds" from a "General wellness form" I filled out online. BS! Didn't even give the name of the company. What a scam! I would highly suggest not calling them back.
CID "UNKNOWN NAME" Caller rang 3 times and hung up. Have gotten calls from this same number for IRS scams, etc. Seems to be a favorite spoof number for the scammers! I get so sick and tired of ATT and the blackmail they want monthly to block all anonymous calls. I am also almost as sick of all the shills on this site pandering for call blocking devices. They don't really work. Either they block people you want to get through, or they let scammers through. At best they ring once and the call goes away. IF IT RINGS ONCE, IT IS STILL A DISTURBANCE! Call blockers are as worthless as ATT.
