What a drag! Sorry to hear what you're going through. I just got a call with your number showing in CallerID, which I didn't answer. The bad guys have likely made your phone number unusable for you and I would think you'll need to get a new #.
There's got to be a way to come up with "certified" caller ID #s that can't be spoofed. Until then, I'm using blacklists via Ooma to filter my calls, but many still slip through to ring my phone like this one did. I may switch to whitelisting via Google Voice, so only the numbers I approve will make it through to ring.
Advertising a particular call blocker is against TOS which i am sure you have been told before. Besides there are many good ones out there and people should make their own choice about what they want, features, and price. But if you want to keep spamming that same post, I am sure on of the mods here will be more than happy to show you what the letters PMA stand for.
Advertising is something you PAY for. I'm not advocating the use of ANY particular blocking service and am only trying to make people aware of the fact that effective solutions are available. Something you won't find on this site. If 800notes was really interested in helping people avoid telemarketers, it would allow those with possible solutions to post, but then that would defeat the purpose of the site, wouldn't it now?
No, I searched that term and found that it did indeed come up with a particular call blocker in three posts. You want to put down a particular make and model call blocker. That is advertising in my book. You are welcome to your opinions, but there are many threads here that actually discuss call blockers. Perhaps if you would take the time to look, you would have found them. Heck I even did you a favor and posted them in the other thread you wrote that same nonsense in. So you see, this site does allow those with possible solutions to post. It just doesn't allow those solutions to be spammed all aver this web site.
If you don't like the rules, you can do one of three things. Live with them, ask the administrator to change them, or leave. Your choice. See how that works? I didn't even need to force feed you a particular solution.
