I received a call from this guy this evening on 01/26/2015. He stated he was with Microsoft and that my computer had a virus. I asked him how he got my number and he told me I was an authorized person on the Microsoft package. He told me he would show me the problem if I allowed him access to my computer. I had my husband speak to him and finally got him off the phone by telling him the power cord was not working.
SCAMMER!!! has a foreign accent...States he's from windows Microsoft company and your computer has been infected. states he can fix it... THIS is NOT TRUE!!! number one Microsoft will never contact by phone concerning this information. These are hackers wanting into your computer to steal all of your information ex: credit card numbers, emails, pictures, bank account info, other account info. These people can pull all this information from your computer if you give them info. SO please DO NOT give them any information. Just hang up. You can report this to the non emergency number of your police dept. so they can keep it on their SCAM log. If you are worried about your computer having issues or want to speak to a real Microsoft employee please contact the Microsoft company at their customer service number 1-(800) 642-7676. Or take your computer to a Staples or Best Buy to one of the Service Techs.
