Survey claiming to represent the IRS. What does asking if I use the Internet to buy products have to do with the IRS? What does asking if I used social websites such as Facebook have to do with the IRS? Sure they threw in a couple of questions like did you file a tax return last year? Since they knew my name before they called, they knew that I did. I am suspicious as to the real reason behind this call.
received a call from this number at my office. "Tasha from Russel Research officially hired by the IRS and featured on the IRS website". She introduced herself and then said "I'm sorry, I have another call coming in. Is it okay if I give you a call back?" I hung up. She called back and asked to be transferred to our Executive Vice President in charge of farming.
This number called my phone phone..and when I did not answer they called my cell immediately..from a different number 312-765-7460. Both were from Russell Research and it was a recording. Said that I was specially picked..blah, blah, blah. I couldn't even tell this person to stop calling.
This person said they were calling from Russell Research Group doing survey and would pay $50 gift card if I participate. Called everyone in my office. Said they were collecting information on individuals in our profession for an anonymous company. Said I would not participate and provide information to an anonymous entity.
There are no free lunches, unless you like salmonella, ptomaine or e-coli with side order of botchalism.
Even if payment is offered for participation. There are ALWAYS ulterior motives.
