Survey claiming to represent the IRS. What does asking if I use the Internet to buy products have to do with the IRS? What does asking if I used social websites such as Facebook have to do with the IRS? Sure they threw in a couple of questions like did you file a tax return last year? Since they knew my name before they called, they knew that I did. I am suspicious as to the real reason behind this call.
I never heard of the irs having a company do cold calls for them for info. First off if somebody wants your ssn/birth date then that should send a red flag right up.
Second why is the caller id not saying it is russell research.
So yes they called me too. I stopped them at birth date and said that is none of your business.
Be carefull who you give your info to, this sounds like what they call phising tryingg to get the little bits of info so they can steal you tax return.
Mine came up as Rutherfford NJ on the caller ID. They never leave a message.. I'm going to start answering all these phone calls and just have my son scream into the phone.... So irritating!
I received their call asking ssn number, etc..., was annoyed of their calls so I stuttered a fake ssn number for almost half an hour, so they hung up. No more calls after that.
There are no free lunches, unless you like salmonella, ptomaine or e-coli with side order of botchalism.
Even if payment is offered for participation. There are ALWAYS ulterior motives.
