Automated call from this number said my my prepaid CC was locked and wanted me to input the credit card number to continue! do people really give up their CC numbers to these scams that easy?

WHEN YOU STAY ON LINE AND ASK TO HAVE YUR NUMBER REMOVED, THEY HANG UP.
ANSWERING BY THE NUMBER 2 AS INSTRUCTED DOES NOT REMOVE YOU FROM THEIR LIST AS THEY CLAIM.
Calls and leaves no message when I don't pick up. When I pick up they sit there for a bit and then hang up. I used my call blocker box now for my landline and blocked them finally.
