Yes, this is either a scam to get you to pay some "processing fee" or deductible or plain vanilla insurance fraud. Why in the world you need your DNA tested anyway? As far as knowing your info, that can happen in many ways. Insurance company leak is possible. If you are older, over 55, you are targeted since you are apt to be trusting, and also can be intimidated.
Do NOT call these crooks back. Do not talk to them if they call again. That just gets you more calls from them and others. Block the calls from that number.
You might be able to report this to your insurance carrier. It is worth calling your carrier to see if they are interested in having the phone number and the name the crooks are using. Long shot, but might help others.
Got a call from this number and they referred to me as Mrs. So-and-so. I'm not married, so I was initially suspicious. Then he started talking to me about genetic testing and asked me if I had children and if I wanted to know what diseases I might have passed on to them, and I told him that's none of your business. I normally don't pick up from numbers I don't recognize, but I'm in the midst of a job hunt, so have to expect calls from numbers and people that I don't know. Unfortunately I didn't get the company name.
Tired of these SOB calling my house 3 to 4 times a day and they hang up if I could only get my hands around there neck what good is that Do Not Call registry!
Express Labs ... wanted to send me 'topical pain cream' and said my insurance would cover it. I told her I have no pain, do not want their product, do not want any more phone calls, take me off their call list. SCAM!!!
Called saying they had a topical pain cream they were able to send me that my insurance would cover and they just needed to verify my information. I said I didn't want any pain cream nor had any been prescribed to me and hung up. You could hear call center noises in the background.
Have called my cell once a day for the past 4 days - I did not answer. Does the DO Not Call List even exist anymore? If it does it appears to be useless.
