Received call today 03/05/16 and a man worth a middle eastern accent said he was my husband and needed me to send him money... I told him I found that funny since my husband was sitting next to me and he hung up. Definitely barking up the wrong tree...
Be REAL careful with these guys: They are using a new tactic lately ... calling several times in a row within 5 minutes to get you to believe it's and important call. DON'T FALL FOR IT! If you don't recognize the call (especially when the prefix starts with a 1 or 0) don't answer it!!!
Foreign sounding guy explains he is with the federal government and says I am due to receive $11,000. He wants to confirm I live in AZ. I confirm that and ask him where he is from. Pause. "I am from D.C.", he says. "Where did the money come from? Oboma?", I ask. "Yes", no hesitation. "Okay, I want my $11,000 to go to the starving children of Africa. Okay, bye". No response. Ask if you can get more money. Don't get ripedoff!
