Sixth call of the day (previous ones were different spoofed numbers). This was a guy named 'Alan', from a call center and likely Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi based on the accent. Claimed to be from "US Grant Department" and stated my number had been randomly chosen to receive free money, that I would never have to pay back; from the government. He said I didn't need to give him any personal information or account information; I just needed to 'confirm' some things. He then stated that once he could 'confirm' me, I would receive an email with the instructions for how to get the free money. I played along. He told me my address and then asked if it was correct, I said no, then he asked for my new address. Blocked. I list it as a "prank" call, but really it's a scam.
mine was from teamviewer.com saying they wanted to refund me for a program that didn't work BUT they need access to my puter for that. Hah! I told them to send it snail mail
Just finished a call from 'John' giving me the spiel that my computer is in trouble. Told him that he is a scammer. He denied it if course. Told him he should be ashamed of himself. He said he is not ashamed. I was surprised that he did not end the call, I did.
