This number called my wife a few times. Similar story as the others, a woman with a heavy Indian accent said she was with the government and something about $9,000 and "you might ask how can this be true?". Definite scam, and then I hung up. My wife just arrived in the USA, so she hasn't signed up for that many things yet. It's scary to think this unknown entity already has her information.

I just received a call from this number and a heavily accented man by the name of Frank was calling from the United States Government Grant Department, offering me a grant of 7000. I did not provide or confirm any information and probed to get info from him. He claimed I had submitted an application by email on July 29th of this year - which wasn't possible as I was working and had been graduated for months. He had my name and email address and congratulated me on my approved grant and explained the grant wasnt just for school, but housing and other needs I may have. Extremely put off, I hung up and did some research and found this. I was wary of the bizarre nature as my folks had been phished before, only more alarmingly. Thanks to all who shared their encounters, and here's mine.
