I received a call just moments ago informing me that I was the won a $10,200 grant from the government. They wanted to know how wanted the money sent to me. I told them to mail me a check because the government still issues checks. They said they couldn't do so because some people have complained about not receiving their checks. Therefore they needed a "bank account or plastic card" to deposit the funds. I told them that it was very sad that they would call people to inform of of such a lie as a method to retrieve the banking information to steal from them. I told them I was not a fool and was quite aware of what they were trying to do and it would only be a matter of time before they are caught. It is so horrible the limits people will go to steal from you. Please block this number and never, ever give out banking information to anyone over the phone unless you are absolutely certain of whom you are speaking with.
A man with an Indian accent called to tell me about a goverment program... I told him this was a scam, that he couldn't speak english, and I was on the do not call list. He began to yell at me because I said he couldn't speak english. I then hung up. He called back yelling at me for hanging up. I again told him he was trying to pull a scam, that I was not going to verify my banking information with him, and he wasn't going to keep yelling at me. He then said "Youa fulla shidda" and hung up on me. lolololol
Got the same call and I told him that I would love the money but I wasn't giving him any of my info and asked why the US Gov. would have someone calling for them that didn't even sound American He told me to shut my MF mouth! Nice Right!!
Called me FIVE TIMES in 3 hrs!! I answered out of annoyance and was told (in very thick accent) the federal government selected me for $10,200 and needed to verify my contact info. HELL NO!!!
