I just received a call from 202-223-0880 saying that I was being sued. I called back from another number and she said that this was the US Treasury Dept .. but I could hear people in the background talking and saying the same message. I asked her who they really were and that I thought this was a scam. ...then she said "just wait until you're arrested".
What a scam.... I told her that the US Treasury Dept would not be calling people to arrest them.
My mother received one of these voice mails yesterday. Ease Indian accent, left no name, was very threatening, stating that criminal charges were being filed against her and that she needed to call the same number back tomorrow morning with the case number he left. She was in a panic and ready to hire an attorney. Please tell your elderly family, parents, friends, about these scammers!!!! People that don't know about it and are not used to the now normal scams, could be taken advantage of and lose a lot!!
This guy left a message and said that he is from IRS and said that they file a criminal lawsuit against me and gave a case number and he wants me to call back with my attorney good thing I found this site first cause I am thinking of calling them.
