Got a call and the recording said he was an officer with the FBI and I needed to call back this number because of a "very serious problem." I checked out the number and the guy had an Indian accent and I knew it was a scam and told him so when I called back and then hung up on him. He then called back and started making all kinds of vulgar statements and I then contacted the police and made a report because he was impersonating an officer, which is illegal.
I just got a call from this guy, too. He left voice message for me to call 202-239-1424. I called -- went to voice mail. I called again -- went to voice mail. I called again -- "Officer Keven" answers. I tell the the kind man that I am returning his call.
He says who are you?
I say you tell me -- you called me.
He said your number is coming up as Blocked.
Not my problem, I said. I asked why did you call me?
He giggles.
I ask him what's so funny?
He said You don't get it.
I said, oh I think I do. I then ask him if I can order some matter paneer, pappadam with extra r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r rice cuz I love r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r rice!
He giggles.
I said what's so funny?
He says, you're not getting it.
I said, oh I am getting it, See if you took the time to google your own number, Officer Kevin, you'd see you're a scam. Now, did I get my Indian Food or not?
I can't stop laughing.
I think I'll call him again in about 15 minutes if my order doesn't arrive and suggest you do the same.
Got a similar call from 202-864-1619 on my parents' landline. Prerecorded message, no Indian accent. Guy claimed to be "Fernando Rodriguez" from the "IRS" and that my parents were under suspicion of "tax evasion...tax fraud." Nice try.
Guess they learned to use an American accent and not do live calls because of epic responses like this. Kind of a pity. lol
