I received a call today and a man with a heavy accent said he was from the Dept of Justice Criminal Division. He claimed that FedEx delivered documents to my home twice of which I never received. He knew my address and started to claim there was something wrong with my taxes. At that point I realized it was a scam and cut him off. After Googling this phone number I see that he was a scammer...I wish the U.S. Government will go after these scammers and put them behind bars...
I received the call on my answering machine in plain English. I returned the call and someone by the name of Officer Jack Cooper answered the phone. He could barely pronounce "Cooper" correctly. He proceeded to inform me of legal action and lien against my home and/or automobile if I did not pay taxes owed. I argued that my husband and I file our taxes together and he proceeded to tell me it was only against me, (curious). His voice started to break up and I proceeded to tell him so. Suddenly, the line cleared up and he requested my cell number for better communication. I declined, stating I could hear him clearly now. He became very agitated with me and twice warned me not to interrupt him again. He asked if I wanted to settle out of court or not. I then told him I would be contacting my tax attorney first, which at that time he pushed to end the conversation, but I continued and said loudly, "Listen to me, I'm contacting my tax attorney and we'll be in touch." He then hung up on me abruptly. Once I Googled the number and confirmed it was a scam, I became angry. I called the number back again, and a different "officer" answered. I asked to speak to officer Jack Cooper concerning our former conversation. Jack Cooper took the call and mispronounced my name (he didn't mispronounce it during the first call). I informed him that I had contacted my tax attorney and that he and my lawyer new the source and location of the phone call and would be visiting them on my behalf next Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Jack Cooper, then surprised at my messaged, stated: "You mean they're coming all the way to Pakistan?" I then replied, "Our IRS does not have an office in Pakistan, you just blew it." Then I slammed the phone down.
There is NEVER any United States Government official that will call you on any phone. It's all done through the regular US mail, your accountant, or registered mail. Just tell these cowards to [***] themselves. They'll just start cussing up a storm and yelling back, so have fun!!! Keep them on the phone!
I just wish that someone would tell me where they're located so I can fly there with a couple of friends and TAKE THEM OUT."
I'd pay $10,000.00 for that chance. But they're all cowards and common criminals.
It's now at the point where "IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE CALL, DON'T ANSWER IT."
AND IT'S GOING TO GET A LOT WORSE. DONT' FRET. DON'T ANSWER YOUR PHONE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE PHONE NUMBER.
