I received a call today and a man with a heavy accent said he was from the Dept of Justice Criminal Division. He claimed that FedEx delivered documents to my home twice of which I never received. He knew my address and started to claim there was something wrong with my taxes. At that point I realized it was a scam and cut him off. After Googling this phone number I see that he was a scammer...I wish the U.S. Government will go after these scammers and put them behind bars...
Received phone from this number saying that they were the IRS. Wanted me to pay back taxes of 2600.00 dollars. They issued an arrest warranty for me. Found out it is a scam.
We have also been harassed by calls from (202) 618-1948 & (202) 239-2063 with claims of IRS Tax Evasion --> threats of criminal arrest & imprisonment. First we received an automated recording, then spoke with Kevin Marshall who called requesting to speak w/ a 'Patrick Gorowitz'. I ended his beleaguered seach (?) by telling the thick accented voice that no such person resided here at which point he apologized & hung up. However, Mom of 75 yrs, couldn't leave well enough alone. That and her maiden name is 'Gorowitz'. Unaware of such scams, she called the (202) 239-2063 when she spoke with Roy Cage who proceeded to 'Rattle her Cage' like he does so well; preying on the person's fear and emotions after being threatened.
People: Listen Up - The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is trying to help us. If you DON'T owe any taxes call them @ 800-366-4484. . . . Report the incident.
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) @ www. FTC.gov Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments section.
Lastly, go to www.irs.gov to read about other tax scams or google the area code '202'.

Computer voice leaves a grammatically questionable message that states in part: "..officially a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. IRS is doing a lawsuit on your name because you had tried to do a fraud with the IRS Internal Revenue Service and we are issuing an arrest warrant on your name..." scam scam scam.. :P XXXBLOCKEDXXX
