Just got the same message from an Officer Brian Lincoln. First he said Office Brian, then he said Office Lincoln. Needs to make up his mind. Yes, he also had an accent and said he was calling from the Department of Revenue, Taxation and that my house was being investigated. Who are these people??????
Caller left 2 messages to call back at 202-239-2987 and that they were US Treasury at 9:03am and 10:38am this morning. I called them back (with my callerID blocked) and it went straight to a message box.
Officer Peter smith called twice on 1/7/15 saying he is working on a IRS tax case number CM0014 or who the legal case was against. He had a foerign accent which he was trying to hide he sounded familar, he as called before and I reportt it the last time and I will be reoorting to the IRS again.
Message on my answering machine today from "Officer Peter Schmidt, Inspector General with the U.S. Treasury tax administration". He spoke with a foreign accent. He had a case number CM100144 and gave me this number to call regarding me and my address. But in his message he didn't actually say my name or address. I didn't call him back. Definitely a scam. Most likely wants your social security number.
