upon picking up for this # there was just silence- I called the # from my caller id and got a recorded message. After dialing several times I tried the 0. it just kept on until I just began pushing 1 2 3 4 5 and got a live person. I really chewed her out and told her to take my # of her list When I asked where she got my #, she said I had previously showed interest in their cause Conservative Majority. I had not. I'm assuming because I had shown interest in another effort that my name has been given to many others. I'm getting up to half dozen calls a day. The market is insatiable.
Now, I hope I will not begin to get calls because of this entry
Great suggestion ... I did the same thing, i.e., called the "Sam Horton" number, heard the recording, then started hitting numbers. When I hit the "2", I got a live person. I slammed them for the constant 8 a.m. calls. The person at Conservative Majority was very pleasant and promised to take my name off the call list. Btw, what a surprise - Sam Horton was not available to speak with.
They said you had shown interest in them to protect them from lawsuits. It was an out and out lie and they knew it but this is their legal defense should you try to sue them under the law. The Robo calls where they record the message on your answering machine starts "immediate attention is needed on your account". I've received that call from Multiple numbers multiple times. I owe no one a red cent and have no accounts anywhere. Its just a pure lie to save their [***] in case all of us annoyed people ever unite and form a legal defense to kill this nonsense once and for all.
Answered this call which was for my mother. Told them she was in poor health and could not contribute. They said they'd update their records. Got another call from them same day about 8 hours later and when I answered to really chew them out, there was only silence. I called the number back, had to listen to a long message regarding need to preserve Conservative values until they said to press 3 to be placed on do not call list. Then was instructed to press 1 and then kept getting an error that it was wrong. So, no luck. I can block calls with my Panasonic phone, problem is that I can only block 20 at a time. It's always maxed out, probably could easily double that limit and still be needing more. Can't wait until this election is over. Maybe then we'll have some phone peace :) ... until the next time
