Yes, I got a call from Mike Anderson 202-239-7104.  Then from another local number claiming to be the police department 337-937-5651 which is in my area code.  Both with heavy accents.  Then I got a message from Sabastian Taylor 202-501-9199 stating I had 2 hours to make payment.  I must say, this is a good one.  They had just enough info on me to make it believable especially since I am waiting for my refund which is why they said I had not received it yet.  I was suppossed to keep them on the phone while I drove to a local place to get a packet to send payment to Washington DC Court House District 4 on a system called Pay Power or something.  That is when it got fishy to me and I Googled quickly and found this site.  THANKS!!  I'll let you know if I am arrested tomorrow since I didn't make payment!!

Update on my above post.  I was not arrested nor did I receive any warrant!!!  It has been a week and I got another call from them 202-506-9199 Mike Anderson.  You think they'd change their name.  As I put in an above listing, They are very convincing but I was able to contact the IRS fraud department and here is my answer below - So don't be fooled as they really did shake me up.

This is a scam; the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) does not have anything to do with the individuals that are impersonating IRS employees.  The IRS does not contact taxpayers via telephone demanding payment and/or threatening to arrest taxpayers.  Do not provide any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) or money to these individuals.  If you have suffered a financial loss or provided the caller with your PII please email or fax (202) 927-7018 your receipts, a brief summary of the incident and any other supporting documents that you have.  Thank you for reporting this information.

This happened to me today and I just got out of the hospital 2 days ago and boy did this upset me!  For someone to threaten that I would be arrested and flown to Washington DC and be detained for 5 years if I did not pay??  Why would someone do this to people??  The guy said his name was Sebastian Tater.  Thanks to all who posted so future victims can be aware!!

So his first born would be a Tater-Tot?  Please, don't fall for this scam.  I am not even American and I know that the IRS always contacts tax payers via USPS, not by phone, email or fax.  So if you suddenly get a call from Agent Hernandez or Mrs. Doubtfire claiming that you owe the US government money and that you have until the end of the day to pay it or you will be arrested, flown to Washington, detained for 5 days and fed only bread and water, please just laugh at them, hang up the phone and block their number.  Then march over to the IRS's website and file a complaint.  Chances are these cretin are in a boiler room in Bangalore or Pashupatinath and the IRS won't be able to do squat, but who knows... miracles do happen.
