This number called me claiming to be with the Federal Treasury and explained they were contacting me because wouldn't ya believe it I was eligible for $8,000! So I casually asked for his bosses name, ya know, the Secretary of US Treasury? He said he couldn't divulge in any personal information and "warned" me that the Department of Justice itself was monitoring this call, to which I replied "good! Then THEY can tell you it's a felony to impersonate a federal employee. Have a nice day." He then went off on me trying to explain to me how much of an idiot I am for turning this down and I suggested exactly where he could stick the 8 grand as well as advising him to lose my number. Unfortunately he implied I would be getting quite a few phone calls from him in the near future. What an idiot. I only accepted it because I'm expecting a call about a job hiring.
Got a call from this number and I did not answer because I didn't recognize the number. When my answering machine picked up there was just music playing and then the call ended.
Got called, Federal Grants Department US Treasury. I asked how they got me name and number? Was told US Treasury, I qualified for a grant, YIPPEE!!! Was given Confirmation number and different phone number. When told money will be sent Via Western Union, Smelled fishy to Me. Grantees are notified by official letter. Not a Phone call. I know this from working at various non-profit agencies when Grants are received. NO I WILL NOT CALL THEM BACK!!!!!
