Today (April, 04 2014) at around 1:00 pm I received a telephone call at my home phone from a person (phone # 202-241-1299) impersonating as a representative of IRS officer with some IRS issues related to me. I told him that IRS sends letters first for any issues instead of calling on telephone and asked the caller if he was trying to scam me. He told me that I could hang up. I hanged up and then I called IRS on phone. I was informed by IRS that I have no issues with them. I then called the person at 202-241-1299 to check if that number is a valid number. I was connected with the person who threatened me that an arrest warrant has been issued against me because in my previous conversation I asked a police officer if he was trying to scam me. He threatened me that I would be deported to India (from my name he knew that I am originally from India), but I told him that I am an US citizen and cannot be deported to India. Then he tried to scare me with bad hindi words. I hung up the phone. Then he called me again and I told him not to call me and hung up again. He tried to call me again and again, but I did not answer.

Be aware !! Got a call from this number today. Mr. Eric Foster (that's what he said his name was) says IRS sent me notice last year and I did not respond. Hence, an arrest warrant has been issued and I am in trouble (will be deported etc). I asked him if I can see the notice IRS sent me and that I apparently missed. He said I am not eligible to see that notice (almost yelled at me saying I shouldn't waste his time etc). He did not ask for any other info and hung up. I called IRS later.
My name and number can be found on white pages. So I am not surprised they contacted me and had my name. Definitely seems like a scam. IRS probably doesn't call people like this and say "we wont tell you why but you are in trouble".
I received the call from the same number today (April 17, 10 am ) and name " Eric Foster" - and he told me the same things....Troubled me for over an hr...asked me to get the money from bank..and wanted me to purchase the govt bonds..thru western union....definitely seems to be a SCAM!!! Threatened me with the arrest warrant if i didnt pay the money.....I filed a police report after i hung me. The cop called this number and Mr.Eric Foster picked up the phone - talked for 2 minutes and hung up.....
I am surprised how they can get away with all this....
Today i also got call from this number before 5 mins and he stated the same things like IRS and fraud etc..I hung up as i know it is scam.Previously few others have tried like this with different phone numbers.
