This is a scam, by foreign criminals who pretend that you are on a IRS list for audit or other action.
They offer to help you and ask for personal information up front.
DO NOT UNDER ANY SITUATION GIVE ANY INFORMATION OR YOU WILL BE SCREWED.
If the IRS really wants to talk with you, first they will send a letter. Then take that to a verified tax attorney for advise. NEVER accept help over the phone from a cold call.
They are mostly going after Americans of immagrant background because these are the easiest to scare, and they fall for the scam.
These are financial terrorists plan and simple and we all know what the Freedom Fighters think should happent to them.
I did not answer the phone, he left a message. Person claiming to be an IRS officer. He could barely pronounce his own name. Claiming I had 3 IRS charges against my ID and should call him back at 202-241-1698

-message was very faint and sounded like a bad connection – couldn’t hear message so called back. Talked to “Agent Steve Morgan” (who gave badge #)
9/4/14 2:12PM “Agent Sam Cooper” called back again. Still lousy phone connection
9/10/14 10:05AM “Agent Sam Cooper” called back and said I owed $1498.23. Phone was glitchy and cut off. He called again and put me to his “supervisor” “”Agent Dan Martin”.
All 3 had similar strong Filipino type accents although they all had Anglo names. They became belligerent when I said I would run this through my CPA. They said “not to involve a third party”. But to agree to pay $1493.23. All this was spoken verbally i.e. nothing was written when I asked for a written statement. They then threatened court action and costs of 30-50K in costs and the take over of property if I don’t agree to send $ without the written bill. I said this sounded like a scam and that I was rushing to catch a flight to see a hospitalized relative. “Agent Cooper" flew off the handle and said not to leave, and that federal agents would be over in 30 minutes ???
