A guy called my dad this morning, claiming that my mom owed the IRS money. The guy had a Vietnamese accent (my family is Asian) but the guy gave his name as "David Johnson." This is the number the guy gave out but when I called it, it goes straight to a generic voicemail with no identifying information.
Called three times today. Left message saying he's from IRS and we need to call back immediately. Third call I answered and I said he's a scam and I have the detectives on his tail! Of coarse he hung up.
I received 2 voicemails from John Smith stating that there was an issue with last years tax return.
Funny, my accountant made an error, and I was audited. The IRS sends a letter. I called them.
The error was in my favor, but it was 4 months of looking for documentation supporting my now fired accountant error. I received check :) and a letter saying the case was resolved and closed.
This John Smith had a thick asian accent. I hope to be home. I will mess with this clown.
