I am a Canadian citizen and I am receiving the same calls, he claims to be with the Federal Government here in Canada and has left threatening messages on my voice mail. These scammers need to be stopped!
Caller (Obviously Foreign Accent) claims to be IRS asking for information and claimed that back taxes were owed. Claimed would issue warrant for arrest. Did not return call to Sheriff's Office. Called Back and a subject claimed to be Officer Jonathan Knight Badge 46719; however, hung up when asked for supervisor. Gave the Address of the IRS 1111 Constitution Ave, Washington DC 20224. NOTE: IRS does not call taxpayers direct and would use official correspondence.

"They" left a message but the English was difficult to make out. I could make out occasional words here and there, and I'm usually pretty good at that. I worked many years in the medical field, interpreting broken English and encountering many foreign languages. I did manage to hear the word fraud and IRS, and that I needed to call them back. The man identified himself as an officer "somebody" I couldn't make out the name. I'm disabled and have not earned any income or filed taxes in ages so I knew they were fraudulent. It's interesting that they claim that the person they're calling is being investigated for fraud, when they themselves are the ones actually committing fraud by pretending to be someone they are not in an attempt to possibly access your banking or credit information, or to get you to send them money.
