I live in Virginia and have experienced 2 calls a day from the same number for the past week. Just filed a complaint with the FTC. Thanks for confirmation of this call as a scam.
We've gotten four calls so far in last two days. The guy says, "there is a investigaton against your name and your ssn#.......,Don't disregard this call! Call this number 202-241-2642" in heavy accent. Very annoyed.

Very heavy accent guy from Tax Crime Investigation left a voice mail like a threat, insisting to call him back at this number. His accent was so bad and it was very hard to hear what he said. He definitely sounded like Indian or Pakistan.
These people are definitely trying to rip people off. Spoke to a poor connection who states I committed fraud and their cell phone has a bad connection and they will call me back in ten minutes to give me more information and then tried to get my name. Then he said letters had been mailed out to our home and we should have received in July 7th. I asked him what was his company name and he would not provide it. The caller ID came across as 202-241-2642. The message was "there is a investigaton against your name ,Don't disregard this call! Legal action will be taken against you. Call this number 202-241-2642"
