I live in Virginia and have experienced 2 calls a day from the same number for the past week. Just filed a complaint with the FTC. Thanks for confirmation of this call as a scam.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
Three calls since the 12th of August. It's SO obvious that this is a scam. I filed a complaint with the FTC. To everyone who shared their thoughts, experience and advice, thank you. I'm telling everyone I know about it. I really want to call him and tell him I'm with the FBI (LOL).

Just got two calls over two days from Craig Miller representing the Tax Crime Investigation Dept that a lawsuit is being filed in my name (never mentions my name) and that I need to call back 202-241-2642 in order to prevent the lawsuit I guess or have my attorney of record call them. Really? Dumb [***] cannot speak proper English and is probably from India or Pakistan. Would love to give them some bogus info and let them run their tails off trying to collect!! I am on the Do Not Call list. Funny he makes threatening speech not to disregard this message or we will have to follow thru but then tells me to have a good day and a blessed day. What an idiot!!
I received phone calls from 212.241.2642
3 times (8/12,8/14,8/14) from a man with the heavy Indian accent who said he was calling from Tax Investigation Department and his name was Craig Miller.
The calls stated that there was a law suit against my name and that I must return the call immediately.
I googled the phone number and turned out IRS scam
