Got a call from these people as well and offered a $10,000 grant that I do not have to pay back , they told me that FedEx would be dropping it off and all I would need is to show them my ID!!. Of course they gave me a confirmation code and the same 202 number and when I called it the guy said some weird stuff like why are you calling me, who are you and nothing about a confirmation code so I hung up and Googled the number!
this is a scam some lady saying I was awaded a goverment grant of $7000.00 all i needed to do was go to a western union and send a $100.00 to the orphan children and then my money would be deposited in my acct. I did some investaging and found out it is a scam dont do it.
I believe this is a scam too. I was offered $10,000.00 if I was to pay $100.00 to some fund. I know for a FACT that the Government doesn't ask for money if they are gonna give you a grant. Plus you have to fill out some paperwork.
Just got called with an offer of $10,000. I was told I wasn't the only white person to be called with this offer. Just had to call back the above number and talk to Sr. Accounts Mngr, Ashley Stevens. When I asked for an e-mail address to confirm, I was told that I would have to ask Ashley for this as the telephone operator could not take the time. When I asked why in the world the government would be calling me, I was told I wasn't again "the only white person" they were calling. They gave me an address of 200 Independence Ave., SW Washington, DC 20201, HHS Tower. I haven't looked that up, but certainly made it SOUND legitimate. They also asked how I wanted the check to be received: bank account, credit card, or by mail.
The only "white person"? OMG. Of all the stupid things to say. Racist and insulting, but hey, here's your money you didn't even ask for. Maybe they can just show up in a limo to hand you the check personally.
