If you receive one of these calls, tell them that you have your attorney listening in. You will see they will QUICKLY hang up! Do not answer any of their questions! They are becoming more and more clever by asking for your attorney's id number. Then they will try to ask you what is section code. Always ask them what address do they have listed for you,lol,lol.
I got this call today FOUR times. guy said I owed a debt, a warrant was issued, property was seized and I must pay 1211.00, said I must go to bank while he is on the phone and withdraw funds to send, lol,lol,lol,lol,lol,lol,lol,lol,lol,lol. When I ask what address of mine did they have on file, they gave a foreign address. THIS MESS IS A SCAM PEOPLE.
They've called me 4 times, never left messages. Answered finally and it was silent for about 20 seconds and then they hung up. Called them back and a man with a very thick accent answered with lots of noise in the background, but all I could really understand was "IRS .... Division". I asked why they kept calling me and he said "this was a mistake, sorry for the inconvenience". I asked what division he was with a couple times and he hung up on me. Tried calling back twice again and it just rings indefinitely with no answer.
Received 3 calls, one resulting in a message that this was the final attempt to reach me by the IRS. This is definitely not the IRS, I worked there, you'd be contacted by mail, there are no processing offices in DC that I know of, and even if there were, they wouldn't be handling Seattle.
