They've called me 4 times, never left messages. Answered finally and it was silent for about 20 seconds and then they hung up. Called them back and a man with a very thick accent answered with lots of noise in the background, but all I could really understand was "IRS .... Division". I asked why they kept calling me and he said "this was a mistake, sorry for the inconvenience". I asked what division he was with a couple times and he hung up on me. Tried calling back twice again and it just rings indefinitely with no answer.
Just received a call from this #. Caller ID said "Washington DC." My husband thought it was real & his blood pressure went through the roof! They said we owed $2700, and the police will be at our door in 30 minutes if we hang up without resolving it. They asked for our lawyer's info, and my husband gave it to them. I came home in the middle of the conversation and told my husband to hang up because it was a scam. He hesitated but finally hung up. Needless to say- no cops came.
IRS automated message saying lawsuit has been filed against me. Ends with God Bless, pretty sure the IRS wouldn't end calls that way--I actually laughed. SCAM!
Somebody uses this number to bug your house - they hope you'll give up trying to trace it once you hear a muffled and distorted message in another language
