My disabled mother in law got a call from this number today. Claiming to be IRS and threatening her with legal action. Called 3 times in an hour. I called it back went to VM. Pathetic.
They kept calling about a tax audit and when I said if they call again I will contact the police he told me to suck his d*ck and to f*ck off. Must be a very serious claim and business.
My fiance got a call from this number saying they were irs and demanding to speak with her, we asked for a badge number and recieved very nasty responses. This is definately a scam!
Just got this call and message. Indian-sounding woman, threatening she needed my husband or his attorney to respond - or good luck as this unfolds on us.. Same crap as others have posted. Thanks to all who have reported this number as a scam. I NEVER answer unknown numbers - so I didn't speak to her - but interesting as she was 'closing' her message she said she was an IRS officer. She must be new at this - her delivery wasn't as polished.
Not only has this number called me several times (I let it ring and did not set up voice mail at the time). Somehow, they found my mothers phone number and called her (looking for me by name). This is a serious issue and most clearly a scam, as I work for the Federal Government and know that they do not conduct any conversation related to taxes by phone. I am shocked at how they got all this personal information from me - and worry that there is a breach in the IRS system. When I reported it to the IRS website - they ask for almost no information (like phone number or details) and it doesn't seem like they are serious in stopping this.
