SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! I received a pre-recorded message that was partially cut off, but the caller identified herself as Officer Julie Smith (how original) with the IRS. I was sternly instructed not to ignore the message and also advised to obtain legal representation. I can't wait until Monday morning to have some fun with these immoral, unethical, and severely retarded criminals! PLEASE NOTE: The IRS does not initially contact anyone by phone! Don't fall for these telephone terrorists and whenever possible terrorize them right back!
I received a call at 9AM this morning as well as a recorded message (see below) I called them back, and the man with a heavy Indian accent asked for my phone number. I asked him why he needed my phone number and why are they calling? He hung up. I called back and he started cursing and saying really harsh things. It is a scam.
"Return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My officer Julie Smith from Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 202-241-9749. I repeat it's 202-241-9749. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
Received 2 threatening messages today on my home landline from 202-241-9749 from "Julie Smith". This is worse than Rachel from Card Services... I hate these criminals. I filed a report with TIGTA.
I did not know this was a scam until after the phone conversation was over.
I did not get the call personally, but my dad told me that a Julie Smith had been asking for me. So I called today and asked for her. A man with an Indian accent told me she was in a meeting, but he could answer all my questions. He asked for my number and I gave him my house phone. He then asked if he was talking to Megan. Then he started going on about how I owe money and if he wanted me to listen to the codes or rule I broke and what is going to happen. He told me that they will have an office arrest me today and that they had tried sending me letter, telling me about the debt I'm in. He said before they come to arrest me make sure to call my attorney to have him on hand and that I should have someone to bail me out, if not I'm looking at 4-5 years in prison. After that he told me that I owe $6,500.00. I got upset and he asked me if I was a law abiding citizen and if I was and honest person. He then said never to purchase anything over the phone because that causes scams. Then he asked me if my husband would be able to help me bail out. I told him I wasn't married and for some reason he said "Here's what I'm going to do, I am going to help you, but I need you to never contact me through this phone number ever again. I'll take care of everything." And then he hung up.
