I just got a call from a Kevin Peters from the department of treasury with the same claim number as two people above - CM100122 from the number 202-280-7844. it seems like this is a scam correct?
Yep - it's a scam. They would want you to wire money (or get a prepaid card) and send that money to them for "fees". Of course there in NO grant available. It is also illegal to demand an upfront payment in order to obtain loans, grants, etc. These jokers are probably in India.
Yes, I also received a call from Kevin Peters from the Dept of Treasury in Wash DC. Didn't give me a claim number but informed me that I would receive documents in the mail in a few days about my 1040 tax return that has errors. Hung up and called but got another person sounded like an Indian female with the same message. Tired of all these phone numbers that are complete scams. Told them to shove all the docs up their you know what.
Completely fake, they called me many times. I hope someone report this to the police. It very frustrating that the police didn't do anything about it. And there is many cases of this scam call.
