He called me three times last night at supper time. I first told him he was a fraud and hung up on him. He called 1 minute later and asked why I hung up on him. told him to leave me the f___ along he was a scam and hung up. he called again and I was so pissed, asked him his name. Told me his name was jack and he was calling from Vera Cruz, CA., asked what company he was with, but he hung up fast after that.
This call may be from a scammer who tries to get you to allow him into your computer by telling you that it is "putting out viruses." A forum post at McAfee includes the number 202-317-1111 (and it comes up first in a Google search). Do NOT allow anyone unknown to you into your computer or download files at the request of a cold-caller.
Received call today. Said there were viruses on my computer that Microsoft was only able to pick up at the main office. Even after I said not interested, asked him not call back and hung up, he kept calling until I disabled the phone..
I just received a similar call. The individual, a male, said he was calling from Microsoft about virus notifications they were receiving from my computer. When I asked him for 800 # I could call him back at he became very argumentative. He wanted me to press the windows key, ALT, and R at the same time. I asked again for an 800 #, he said “let me show you the error messages and then he would give me the number. I said I wasn’t comfortable and wanted the Microsoft 800#, he said he was with an LLC hired by Microsoft. At his point I hung up. He tried calling back by I didn’t answer. When I tried to calling the number I got the disconnect ring tone.
