Thank you so much for that info. I received the same call talking about a lawsuit. I have other people living in my home and they did not say exactly who they wanted. I figured it was a SCAM. I did not return that call.
I called this number back. I spoke to "IRS auditor" and his supervisor who sounded like the same person. They had my home and work addresses, my cell phone and my social security number. They states that I had errors on my taxes and owed nearly 8k. When I asked to receive information in writing, I was told that the paperwork had been sent to the courts and if I did not make a payment as a sign of intent to pay I would be arrested for fraud. After I asked for a case number and stated I would contact my local office to review, they became very pushy. Ultimately, they hung up when I kept pushing back. Please do not give these peoply any personal information and DON'T give them any money!

Interesting stuff... I got the same voice message.
Remember that the IRS does not ever communicate with you but by snail mail, nor would they ask you to call without giving you a notice number to refer to.
It is always something, eh
