My message was left on an answering machine. A mechanical voice saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and gave me this number to call back. Of course when I call it took a very long time to connect and then it just rings with no answer, or it's a busy signal. So I thought it was crazy the IRS would call and leave voice messages in the first place. I got online and found it's a scam. My brother got the same one and it totally freaked him out. I hope these people get caught and go to jail for a very long time.
Received a call, hung up before I could pick up. I called back and got a person who tried to speak my name.. got it all wrong. I played alone asking what court jurisdiction and a case no. the a-hole cited a case no. and said the court's in DC. I carried the SOB along for a while longer then cussed his azz out.
202-367-6968 - They called me on 11/10/15 and left 2 messages on my answering machine stating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I decided to google the number due to I figured it was a scam.
My elderly mother answered this call and was threatened that she and her husband were going to jail if they didn't stop hiding from the IRS as they have been looking for them and that they owe thousands of dollars to the IRS. My mother hung up and gave me the number; no one answers when you call back the number.
