My message was left on an answering machine. A mechanical voice saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and gave me this number to call back. Of course when I call it took a very long time to connect and then it just rings with no answer, or it's a busy signal. So I thought it was crazy the IRS would call and leave voice messages in the first place. I got online and found it's a scam. My brother got the same one and it totally freaked him out. I hope these people get caught and go to jail for a very long time.
I received a call from this number today. The call went to voice mail at first. They left an urgent message and ask that I call them today. The message was very vague and did not say it was the IRS. I called. When they finally answered the phone, I spoke one person who said that this was the IRS - gave me the badge number - and then proceeded to tell me that they are taking legal action against me including jail time. I started to freak out at first. Then he said he could transfer me to a supervisor who could help me take care of this. He then told me that I owed $7000 in back taxes and I could set up a payment plan today if I go to a CVS and make a payment via Money Gram. I asked can I just log into the IRS site and make a payment. He said NO I have to make the payment via Money Gram. Then he told me I am NOT to contact anyone about this transaction or tell anyone. I said I think if you are taking legal action against me then I should consult with my attorney. He said NO do not contact anyone about this. Just go to a CVS or Walgreens and make a payment via Money Gram. He said he would have to stay with me on the phone as I go to CVS and make the payment. I started to calm down because it didn't make sense. The IRS would not ask you to go to Money Gram to make a payment. I hung up!

Received the same call! Yesterday they left a voice mail and a number. No answer, but was curious because if the IRS was going after you for something you would have certified letters and warnings prior to action.
Same thing - Voicemail stating I was going to be sued by the IRS. Googled Pearson Damion and irs lawsuit.....and found your site. What a jerk. I worry about the Seniors, too. Phone # 202-367-6968
