Lobby your state representatives to outlaw the COMMERCIAL use of robo-dialers! These should only be available to state, local, and federal authorities for EMERGENCY messaging ONLY!

So, unless you gave WRITTEN consent to a company, ANY use of a robodialer IS illegal.
Did you really think telescammers would obey the law?
After all, criminals do their thing... no matter what the law says.
In other words, stop depending on "the government" to protect you against everything. Try helping yourself.

Why should we shell out our hard earned cash to buy a call blocker that these scum will only pay a hacker to get around anyway? Duh, these pond scum are operating illegally! Duh, they're not legitimate businesses! For all we know the companies that make these call blocking devises HIRE pond scum to harass us into buying their product. I never give written consent for sales calls. We haven't even entered sweepstakes in years because that's all they are, opportunities to gather info so they can bombard us with sales calls! NO ONE obtained our permission to call us, written or otherwise! And asking to be put on any company's DNC list is a waste of breath!
I know how frustrated you are. I was too. I admit I "shelled out" the money for a call blocker but it is the best $70 I've ever spent. It holds 2700 numbers and no one has been able to dial through when I block the number. It has many different settings. I can set it so that no one except the numbers I expressly allow can dial through. Blocked numbers can't even get my answering machine. All they get is a continuous, endless ring. That lets me waste their time which is, I admit, satisfying. There is blessed peace in the house. If you're worried about missing an important call, don't. All calls are logged and you can choose to call back or just use sites like this one to find out who called. Honestly, I feel your pain but this thing has been a blessing for the last 7 years.
