if the feds know these call are coming from overseas, and the number can be called back to reach a person the feds should initiate action immediately upon verifying such, they could do this through an automated calling routine to flood the number with so many inbound calls that it consumes all the crooks' telephony bandwidth and cripple their ability to make calls and accept calls. Come on US, put some action behind this crap to protect your country and its citizens from the lying cheats who live to scam your people. Put them out of business each time a new number pops up, which is pretty often. In the last week I've blocked 3 different numbers where all the callers are doing the same thing with a different twist. I too got the call from this number 202-386-6171 and a voice mail. When I called back from a different number asking for their credentials - the heavy accented low-life scum said clearly F- you and hung up. i called back and went through the same routine and this one simply hung up. If we could make millions of calls simultaneously it would show them who is in control.
Friend got call (recorded message) being sued by IRS. I told him it was a Scam--called back--guy answers the phone and says he is with the IRS--gave the GS number ( I should say BS number) when I asked him his IRS Id number. When I asked him from where he was calling he said Washington routed through .... (couldn't understand him he had very very thick accent sounded Asian)...When I said I didn't believe him and would report him--he said--very plainly "F*** you! You're in trouble. F*** you!" Really? An IRS agent? SCAM!!! I'm going to report this to the FEC or whatever agency should be monitoring this. EVERYONE should do this.
I JUST GOT THE SAME MESSAGE AS OTHERS.I PANIC AMD CALLED NIMBER BACK TWICE.NO ANSWER. Won't call again.my taught was the same as others.they always give you another different # to call back. And why from Washington.
