lol, you obviously have no idea how phone systems work. Phone tunneling via VOIP is certainly possible, but it is NOT possible to receive a phone virus from answering a call. You should probably graduate middle school before posting online.
this number called and my granddaughter answered. I told her to tell them that I was busy and then they tried to engage her to talk about her boyfriends and could HE be her boyfriend...that she was pretty...
Some kind of sick person on the other end trying to engage kids!!! Who can I report to b/c I too called back and the number on the ID was not in service.
These calls are being made by "phone tunneling" using the internet (VOIP). The callers can chose where they want to appear calling from just as scammers on the internet use proxies to appear in a place they are not. By choosing to appear from D.C., the scammers may think you will fall for their lie about being the government and cooperate. If you do not answer calls from numbers you do not recognize, these calls will eventually stop. Seldom, seldom do I get any of these calls anymore by not answering unknown numbers. If the caller is someone I need to talk to, they can leave a message or we won't talk. They usually do leave a message. These calls reported here are from arab countries, not the USA. Answering machines are your best friend!!! In some instances, when you answer, a virus is planted on your phone that can monitor every call you make, especially if you do phone banking they can get your banking information. Please people, if you do not know the number calling, do not answer it!

I got a call on my landline phone, soooo I don't know about the phone virus thing, but they did tell me that I was picked for a Federal Grant (like some kind of drawing) my caller id said "WSHNGTNZN1 DC" He started asking for my information, I gave him a fake mailing address just to test out the conversation, he supposedly was trying to "confirm" my address but had me somewhere in NY, nowhere close to where I am actually from. Anyway, he asked for the state, when I told him he ASKED ME HOW TO SPELL IN!!!! I asked for his address, he gave me an address from the White House!!!! Also he did not know what a PO BOX was!!! so I said "if you are working for the federal government, how is it that you don't even know what a PO BOX is??? IT'S AN ABREVIATION FOR POST OFFICE BOX!!! AND HOW IS IT THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL THE STATE????" His excuse was that he could not hear me well, it was RIDICULOUS!!!!! THEN HE GAVE ME A "GRANT APPROVAL NUMBER THIS PHONE NUMBER "206-462-5478" AND TOLD ME TO CALL THIS AND GIVE THE NUMBER TO HIS BOSS "CHARLENE CLARK". TO TOP IT ALL OF WHEN I ASKED FOR HIS NAME, HE DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO ME. SO I SAID " YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU MY INFORMATION YET I CAN'T EVEN GET YOUR NAME???" AFTER A LOT OF PERSISTENCE HE FINALLY SAID " OK MY NAME IS BOB", I ASKED FOR HIS LAST NAME AND HE SAID "MY NAME IS JUST BOB" ......SO OF COURSE I KEPT PERSISTING AND HE FINALLY MADE UP SOME LAST NAME AND WHEN I TRIED TO GET HIM TO SPELL IT HE KEPT GIVING ME A DIFFERENT LETTER AT THE END, I WOULD SAY "S, AS IN SNAKE OR F???" THEN HE WOULD SAY "NO" AND SAY SOMETHING LIKE "CH" ETC ETC.
ANYWAY, WHO WANTS TO HELP ME F*CK WITH THESE PEOPLE, I AM SOOOO SICK OF THIS CRAP!!!!!! AND YES NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY WERE FROM THE MIDDLE EAST, SOMEWHERE IN THERE......
