If you try the IRS number - due to high volume they are not accepting calls - so you have to go the the FTC website and file the complaint that goes into the black hole. These people threatened to steal my car if I didn't pay. The best way to get rid of them is to tell them you are an attorney. They will then hang up on you. But, why do we pay so much taxes for protection from this kind of crap.

Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
Just received the same info; so, I called them back and told them this was not the IRS. It was an Iranian accent. And I told them to stop harassing people. They hung up on me; so, I called them back. The people doing this are very immature and they just started talking foolishness and I said see, there is no way the IRS would be this stupid. The man started asking me if I had an opening in my company for him--very bizarre.
We received a phone call stating that this was our last notice. The IRS was filing suit against us. Call 202-455-6990 immediately. I looked up area code and found fraud site.
Said they were from the IRS I knew they were Pakistanies I thought ok I'm in lets see what you got
I kept them on the phone for 3hrs went along with them just to see how good they are not very bright I took a shower did my dishes took them for a fake ride to 7-11 and waste their time it was a pleasure sticking right back to these scumbags got to speak with the head [***] and told him what I think
they lef message on my answering message 3 defferent number . when i spoke to then they have and indian and pakistany accent when i mentioned to the that i an working in tax bussiness and i know the provision by the IRS. they hung me up right away. so i know they are victimizing American Tax payer. same sitiuation on me nice
